Yongqun Guo was born in Chongqing, P. R. China. She lived in the United States since 1992. Her paintings are displayed in some of the most prestigious galleries, such as, Wyland Gallery in U. S. A. Please find her art show schedule, paintings and gallery information by clicking the link bellow.
She uses long lasting ink colors extracted mostly from natural material. She paints on handmade paper and rice paper, which allows ink to soak through. Once ink is dry the painting is resistant to moisture and sunlight.
She strives to leave open space for you to use your own imagination beyond her brush strokes. Most of her paintings show wind, rain, storm, and snow or the movement of animals diving, flying and running. She captures the essence of the object, the momentary impression of it, but strives to present its soul.
She also paints oil painting on canvass. She often starts her paintings with no sketches or preconceived ideas. She allows the creative energy, colors and texture to naturally develop as she paints. As straight lines, curves and colorful blocks are added, she embraces the joy and excitement of birth of each new painting.
